AQUACEL® Dressings
In vitro results
In vitro experiments have confirmed that AQUACEL® Ag+ Extra dressing can effectively remove bio-films and prevent bio-films from regenerating.
Results of in vivo experiments
In an FDA-approved biofilm in vivo experiment, it was confirmed that the synergistic effect of Ag+ technology and Hydrofiber® technology can achieve: *
- Compared with the PHMB gauze group, the Ag+ dressing group significantly reduced the biofilm by 95% on the sixth day (p<0.05)39††
- Compared with PHMB gauze, Ag+ dressing exhibits a significantly better epithelialization and granulation rate 39.
- On the sixth day, the Ag+ dressing group formed 48% more granulation tissue than the PHMB gauze group (p<0.05)
- On the sixth day, the Ag+ dressing group formed 24% more epithelial tissue than the PHMB gauze group (p<0.05)
Clinical Trial Results
This trial is a prospective, multiple medical center, and no control group clinical trial. A total of 42 patients with venous leg ulcers were enrolled, including patients who have been infected or are at risk of infection and whose wounds may have formed bio-films. Using dual technologies of Ag+ Technology and Hydro-fiber® Technology, the following results are shown*††
All ulcer wound area reduced by 54%
Infected ulcer wound area reduced by 70%
